Oh, Those Ears! -- Making a Clay Donkey Sculpture
Location: Taos, New Mexico
This sculpture experience is fortunate to have a rare heritage breed of donkey as our full time model. Called Andalusion Mammoths, they were first imported by George Washington from Spain thru the diplomatic permission of the King of Spain, and have been treasured ever since.
At Taos Art School, we believe that place and practice shape the artist. Our approach blends rigorous craft and tradition with experimentation and individual vision, so every student finds their voice while learning in the light and landscape of Northern New Mexico.
Real student stories, brought to life through creativity, practice, and exploration.
